I totally ignore the on board service indicator. My engine oil gets replaced every 10,000 kms on the dot. No questions asked. I highly recommend this especially in our climate.

Also, BMW still sells the Castrol TWS Motorsports. It is made specifically for M cars, it even says so on the container. However the Edge is fine to use as top up.. but has lower heat resistance compared to the TWS.
