hasan don't play with your mid section and headers. the rear muffler is more than enough.

i would recommend you contact petrolhead and see what ASRs sound like and then you can take it from there.

:iagree: Dont judge the exhausts by spending your time on youtube, videos dont do justice..

Listen to petrolhead's exhaust in person, from inside the cabin and outside, that should give you an idea of how loud or how quiet it is, then make your choice..

Thanks Bruno! I know what you are trying to say.

If I have to with the mufflers only, I would prefer the Tubi Normals over the ASR.

The ASR as a complete package is too loud. Has Petrolhead intalled the complete ASR syatem or the mufflers only.

However, I am inclined towards Borla as well, having seen the numbers posted by Ali. In addition, Ayham has it on his M3 and another member has it on his M5. So I am guessing it is within the acceptable limits of Mr. Police.

the ASR is a very decent combination... i consider it to be 40% higher than stock in my standards. the eisenman race would be 100% higher than stock

                  Tubi Exhaust Systems

Another update from Mr. Manu at the Scuderia Systems in the UK.

My suggestion based on your feedback is that you should go for:

                  EITHER:
Stage 1 RACING tubi rear exhaust:
                  OR:
Stage 1 NORMAL tubi rear exhaust with tubi centre section.

The other options will either be too loud or too quiet - have a read through below. I fear that if you go for the Stage 1 Normal tubi rear exhaust you will be disappointed and find the exhaust note too quiet.

Stage 1: Tubi Style Rear Mufflers give around 11bhp increase in performance
These rear mufflers are available in two versions:

                  - Normal Tubi Exhaust
This a the tubi exhaust that we recommend to customers looking for a very very subtle and gentle upgrade. The reason is the volume level really is beautifully judged: the system is very docile at low rpm almost like stock - so that there is no booming, no resonance, and no annoyance and the car can be subtle when you are cruising around town or on the motorway so it is perfect for those people who use the car everyday. However at high rpm, the cars exhaust note is released better- essentially the exhaust note becomes fuller and deeper all the way through the RPM range but what's particularly interesting is that the Tubi gives the car an almost V10-style howl!

                  - RACING Tubi Exhaust (rumore)
The racing version rear mufflers are always loud even at low rpm and make the car get a lot of attention. There's no real difference in tonal quality - both systems give the M6 a magnificent howl. This system is just louder all the way through. It is more suitable for those people who LOVE noise all the time and are looking to transform the sound of their M6! If you want a full on supercar type sound for the car then this is the system to have.

Stage 2: Tubi Style Rear Mufflers & Centre Section gives as much as 23bhp increase in performance
In addition to the rear mufflers you can also opt to purchase the Tubi Style X-pipe which replaces the centre of the M6's exhaust, fitting after the catalysts and between the rear mufflers.
The purpose of the X-pipe is two fold:
                  1. Increase the rate of exhaust flow to up engine HP.
                  2. Exaggerate the sound and tonal quality of whichever rear muffler system you have selected already.

Which setup you choose depends on your preferences for sound and BHP - Combinations:
A: If you want a gentle improvement in sound which is quite subtle but gives the car a lovely exhaust note - all you need are the "Normal" Tubi rear mufflers by themselves - this is around 20% of our customers.

B: If you want a substantial improvement in BHP but not have too much volume - you should specify the Normal Tubi + Tubi X-pipe. This is around 60% of our customers. This gives the car a bit more sound but it's not too loud - if anything it's lovely high pitched howling exhaust note!

C: If you want the car to be fairly loud, you're not concerned about BHP increase and want to optimise "volume vs cost" then opt for the Tubi Race rear mufflers alone. 10% of our customers

D: If you want extremely loud with maximum BHP increase with absolutely maximum volume for flames and a crazy exhaust sound then Race rear mufflers and x-pipe. 10% of our customers

The difference between B) and C) is quite interesting: Combination B) gives a sweeter, more musical sound and more manageable sound as the Tubi "normal" rear mufflers are well silenced and give the right volume at the right time and the X-pipe just exaggerates this. Whereas the setup C) is comparably loud but it's loud all the time.

                    ASR - 95db at 4500 rpm
                    Borla - 82.8db at 4500 rpm

Borla seems to be the quitest out of the above compared three exhausts..

Are you sure Bruno? The db values that Ali has stated seem to suggest that the ASR system in very close to the Eisenmann.

Well unluckily i havent sold any sport version to the UAE yet..

But here is a video from the Sport Version... I guess its exactly what you are looking for..

                              http://www.reuter-motorsport.de/rm/f...20E60%20M5.jpg

If you go for the Race cats it wont be much louder but increases flowrate and therefore power...

BTW.. i am not claiming any power increase ONLY with Backboxes... ;)

My friends. Money is not the top consideration here. I don't want to be the guy who has a nice exhaust in his garage but drives an M6 with a stock exhaust.
