I doubt it would fix a simple door ding. The issue is the metal stretching when you get a dent so even if this trick works to "pop" it back into place, you would still have a wave I am sure.
Will be doing the dents/dings on my car soon! but professionally, and hope it goes back like day1!

I assume they have paintless dent removers here? If so, the good ones can make it look like new again without the cost of respraying a panel! Good luck.
