A Euro Spec M3 is putting down between 276-280 depending on the condition of the car.... and the 335i is still keeping up with it in any race and might even walk away from it....
250?? it trapped 231 at 6500 when we dynoed it a month ago... anyways let's get my car on the dyno again when TAM gets the GT1 system to see how my girl performs.

So using ur comon sense ull be able to figure out that a car with slightly less rwhp (around 283) and less weight will walk away from an E46 M3..... So the numbers is closest to realitly :)
oh & btw 335i is 60-70kg heavier than an E46 M3.. so if they put the same rwhp, M3 should be a bit faster :)
here's some info i can share:
first of all, BMW use PS (metric) and not bhp (imperial) --> more info
335i is rated at 306PS = 306/1.015 = 301.5bhp
E60 M5 is rated at 507PS = 507/1.015 = 500bhp
Euro-E46 M3 is rated at 343PS = 343/1.015 = 338bhp
US-E46 M3 is rated at 330bhp
it's almost known for a fact that the 335 was under-rated by BMW for marketing purposes, most manuals dyno at 270-280rwhp and autos at 260-270rwhp.. so if we use the "rule of thumb" that manual cars lose 16% to the wheels & auto's lose 20%, the 335 would have approx 325bhp or 330PS!
- clean US-M3's dyno at an avg of 273-277rwhp which gives an approx drivetrain loss of 16-17%
- clean Euro-M3's dyno at an avg of 280-284rwhp which gives an approx drivetrain loss of 16-17%
- clean M5's dyno at an avg of 415-420rwhp which gives an approx drivetrain loss of 16-17%
Rami's M5 stock is 5-8% higher than average.. the increase from the mods sounds reasonable though..
Thani's 335 (auto) is pushing 5-8% higher than average..
we're either getting strong motors here in the gulf, or the dyno is reading a bit on the high side :dunno:

Mustang Dynos will decrease ur actual wheel hp by alot.
Dyno Jet will increase ur Dyno figures alot.
Dyno Numbers r to only see how much is ur cars responding to modes....
Rami did the best thing. He waited and dyno-ed his car in stock form, and changed his filters and added scoops then dyno-ed again TO SEE THE ACTUALL GAINS.....
so bottom of the line guys, dyno is good to compare your car to your friend's, or to measure performance gains from mods like rami did..
i.e. winner of the day = rami!

I totaly agree with u haissam....
But if ayham's M3 is 300+ then bruno's is 315........ if ur refering to when i was driving bruno's car, Ayham's M3 was suffering from fuel starvation due to a failing fuel pump...... i changed the pump on his car and i really dont think that Bruno's car would have any chance against it now
hmmm... i really understand what ur saying getting such high number specially on a DynoDynamics but its really close..... i mean the difference btw the known number and the ones we got r (+-10rwhps).
and as i said before its a gr8 way to see if wut ur spending is actually giving u more POWER.....
I'll be dyno-ing my car shortly after i get my Alpha-N compatable CF airbox and couple of other modes :)
stay tune ppl........... me have big surprize :evil:sigpic

Right, and terribly sorry for chipping in too late! And damn hate my job now!!!!
Ok, TAM Engineering; we are SO GLAD we've teamed up together and really get the feeling that we made one of the smartest choices yet. Thank you Motaz and Moe for you infinite support with our machines. I know they can be handful!!
To sum up the never-ending dyno discussion; Rule of thumb: "You dyno your car on one dyno and one dyno only!"
There's a type of drivers who want to have a "dyno queen", so these are usually on the look out for the next highest-reading dyno to open in town. If you want to be objective and scientific, use one dyno only for bench marking. At the end of the day, I don't really care if me car puts up 34324rwhp! I care about IMPROVEMENTS! So, to make it more relative, percentage gains are what we're after, and these are the same (more or less) from one dyno to another.
Right, who wants to come with me to dyno the M?? Haissam?
