Yesterday evening Lamborghini held an official presentation of its Murciélago successor in Sant’ Agatha Bolognese and brought some kind of a suprise. Almost everyone was convinced that Lamborghini’s new flagship would be called Jota, but then Stefan Winkelmann released a new name: Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4. Great name for the 700bhp strong V12 Lamborghini!
We also learned that the looks of the Aventador would be a mix between the Reventon and the Gallardo LP560-4. The new name is more than likely also definitive because Automobili Lamborghini took a trademark on the name last August!

Following the release of the 6.5 liter V12 engine by Lamborghini yesterday we can now show you the first video of the assembly of the brand new powerplant. The engine will find its place in the rear of the Lamborghini LP700-4 Aventador making its official debut at the Geneva Auto Salon 2011.
The output of the new engine is 700hp (525kW). It has a maximum torque of 690 Newton meters available at 5,500rpm and is accompanied by the ISR automated manual gearbox.
