News of the Veyron’s world speed record reached Christian von Koenigsegg quickly, mainly because I told him about it two days after it had happened – when it was still a closely guarded secret, in fact. As our TopGear magazine crew walked around the Koenigsegg factory, enjoying a guided tour from the boss himself, I casually dropped it into the conversation. “Hey Christian, by the way...”

And so one of the first people to find out about the Veyron’s record was a man who was in a position to beat it. He wanted to know how fast it had gone, that was the first question, as you’d expect. When we told him ‘415’ he said, “I thought they would go faster than that.” (As it happened, Bugatti’s testers did go faster, up to 431kph, so he was right). He then began to ponder high-speed location options out loud...

                  Parmigiani Fleurier Bugatti Super Sport

Last Friday Parmigiani Fleurier launched the car inspired Bugatti Super Sport timepiece. A watch made in conjunction with the world’s fastest production car, the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport. The Parmigiani Bugatti Super Sport is an evolution of the Bugatti Type 370 watch collection.

The watch has a partially carbon fiber dial that has been placed perpendicular to the display axis with the use of a double pinion with bevel gearing system. The sytem setup allows for a 90 degree angle transfer of energy. It allows the time to be displayed on the side of the timepiece. The driver never has to pick his hands from the steering to check the current time.

Limited to 30 pieces, the watch comes with strap option created by Hermes Paris, including one in black alligator and a special box finished in 18 carat white gold. The watches are priced at $ 259,000.

Sorry Ahmad. But p just don't see the craftsmanship that you see.

Perhaps that is an effect of my deficient knowledge and taste of watches.

Craftsmanship, agree'd. But it looks like an unfinished watch and my a$$ you can tell time on that thing!! Look at it !! You can't tell the clock arms from the mechanical levers.

And "The driver never has to pick his hands from the steering to check the current time" 259,000$, you must be one heck of a lazy snob!!
Plus, if it's for quick driving and full steering wheel control, the car already has a watch in the center console.
