On Wednesday afternoon, 23 June 2010, he crashed his Lexus LFA Nürburgring Edition prototype[5] worth 1.5 million euros, frontally into an BMW production car near the Nürburgring, Germany. Both cars were a total loss. He was 66.[6]
The LFA veered into oncoming traffic, colliding head-on[7] with a BMW 3 series on the K94 road [8] at Boos, near the Nürburgring. The BMW was also a test vehicle[9], both occupants were injured, one is reportedly still in critical condition. All three test drivers wore helmets. The left hand drive Lexus had been photographed previously[10] with a driver wearing a white helmet.[11]

before you start your safety related comments, i think the deceased died because of a heart attack or some age related issue. because the cockpit was ok.
