Importing from U.S.

Alright, so we do know that no less than 25% of the cars in the UAE are U.S. imports. Go to Industrial area for proof.
Let's say I want to import a personal car from the U.S., be it salvage or running.

What are the steps ?
Shipping ?
Shipping Insurance ?
Customs ?
Details, the more the merrier !

Ok, only problem left wich isn't listed in the link is importing Salvage. How can I get a VCC (Vehicle Clearance Certificate) for a salvage vehicle so I can register it AFTER repairing it, given the fact that IT IS repairable ??
