Speed limit on Al Ain-Dubai road reduced again due to construction

    Published: July 20, 2009, 15:50

Abu Dhabi: The speed limit on the Al Ain-Dubai road has been reduced to 100km per hour due to road construction.

Radars have been reset to catch violators in both direction, according to the Traffic Engineering and Road Safety Section of the Traffic and Patrols Department of Abu Dhabi Police.

Colonel Hussain Ahmad Al Harithi, Director of the Department, said traffic on the road has been limited to two lanes in each direction with no hard shoulders.

Motorists will also have to take some detours until the road work is over, after which the road will have four lanes in each direction.

Al Harithi urged motorists to adhere to the new speed limit.

This is for the commuters between Al Ain - Dubai and vice versa, once the two track road, Al Ain road starts, the radars flash on and above 101 Km/h.. Unlike the 121 Km/h that was couple of months ago. So please stay cautious and dont try exceeding as there are hidden radars installed as well..

this is as far as i understand (correct me if i am wrong) a public forum, where people share ideas on how to make the bmw lifestyle better and more pleasurable and enjoyable..where we benefit from others mistakes and learn from our own ,share experiences..all in a common goal to make everything and everyone better, not the opposite.. do i need to remind everyone of all the laughs we had and how many times we shared food and shisha together..how many times we all stayed up late to fix anothers friend (brother) issues?? This is what makes a community, us, people..a common understanding and fellowship..respect

You drive and 101 km/h and you'll get caught, its confirmed. One of my friend was driving yesterday on 110 km/h and got flashed, he was thinking the speed limit is 120 km/h. So its confirmed, but you still have the choice of risking it and doing the survey for us ;)

                              friend of mine's history........(!)

there was a radar near dubai marina, long time ago

once i was not aware that i had been driving at a speed of 150km/h

i saw the radar, it was too late, i did not even break...but it did not flash!!!

after that it became a challenge for me (i was driving toyota yaris)

                              i tried it at 160

                              then 170

                              then 180

car was not going faster...i closed the AC...185...no flash

then i waited till the night for the temp to go down

i closed the AC, and lights also...WOT...190km/h... then it flashed

mission completed, costed me only 400 AED

                              old days...good days
