i think it would easier to find a dwarf & teach him how to drive an F1 car than doing the whole job! or even you can "video edit" the driver out.....

it is possible, i have no doubt about that, but is it worth it, just for an ad?

they said it's controlled by bluetooth, but normally bluetooth covers only 10's of meters and not 100-200m as it shows here.. so that's suspicious..

also if you think about it, McLaren wouldn't wanna design & create analog input/output interface for speed, brakes, gears, steering etc, then transfer them through bluetooth into a phone, which requires hundreds of lines of software.. then all this system (not reliable IMO) shall control a car worth tens of millions!

                  all this for an ad?

if they really did it, then we know why they suck at F1 this year  busy with RC cars

this is as far as i understand (correct me if i am wrong) a public forum, where people share ideas on how to make the bmw lifestyle better and more pleasurable and enjoyable..where we benefit from others mistakes and learn from our own ,share experiences..all in a common goal to make everything and everyone better, not the opposite.. do i need to remind everyone of all the laughs we had and how many times we shared food and shisha together..how many times we all stayed up late to fix anothers friend (brother) issues?? This is what makes a community, us, people..a common understanding and fellowship..respect

Bluetooth can reach up to 100m depending on the type used, there are different types, some are very short range under 5m (which are used for security system), there are the 10m ones (which is used in mobile phones and similar devices) and then there is the long range version, which are typically used in open spaces

But this does look like a fake... not really worthwhile to do it via BT, but nice idea... Although I don't like McLaren and especially Hamilton
