Radar detectors cannot detect any radars in Dubai

saying that the new radars work on lower frequency is just stupid.. i think he meant to say that they are low-power radars, but they have to work on one of the known bands: K-band, X-band & Ka-band!

^^^ So not true !! ... I've tested Escort Passport X50 on many of the new installed radars and it worked fine .... some of them are still empty while others are working fine !

I personally would use one not cuz I overspeed, but because sometimes you get caught off-guard while doing that extra 1 or 2 km/h without noticing and with this many radars commissioned I see myself incurring more of these stupid fines. Radars don't discriminate! And that's the worst feeling ever....

True, that's a point.
That's why I usually stay at 110KM/H so that wont happen.

What are the fines for having a detector in your posession IN the country, let's you get stopped for something and the officers notices it in your car ?

okay !! this is weird but listen to what happened yesterday..

Normally, the speed at Business Bay is 100 where you will get caught at 121 km/h ... I was driving doing 110 km/h and suddenly one of those new (SSS) Radars flashed in my face and my Escort X50 didn't catch it ...

I'm confused since I was doing a legal speed plus my radar detector didn't catch it :\ ...

Guess I'll have to check with Escort forums to check if there is any information about this ...

the angle eyes balasts that burnt 50 times, the fog lights that burnt few times, the rear LED that reached deffected, the tws oil that went missing from the market... trust me the more you nag the more bad things happen.

Okay I did few tests these days .... I turned out that SOME of those new radars are detected from a distance of no more than 100m !!! which is low compared to old ones which can get caught before at least a kilometer range !

Till this second, I didn't get a fine ! ...... I'll keep you guys updated..
