Most of the people who went to order the new Land Cruisers were given a time period of 6 months atleast - 1 year to receive their car, whereas hundreds of Land Cruisers are simply standing under the sun. This way the dealer is trying to make the public feel that the demand is high and the supply is less to increase and play with the prices. Take a look at the pics









and they say they dont have the Prados in stock



and the FJs



Even Honda is trying to play the same strategy



Look at the cleanliness of the place



It is shocking to see the condition of BMWs in the stores

X5 which costs Dhs 350,000



Alpina B5 which fetches a price of Dhs 450,000

Exactly! Also some showrooms here in Al Ain bought ALL the Land cruisers from the dealers and increased their prices more than the showroom, whereas now nobody is willing to buy from the showrooms or the dealer itself.

Ssense, you have to know that most of the cars are going for export as well. This a question of transit and taxes once exported. If the car is stocked in UAE (for exemple) more than 6 months in the same country after the date of fabrication, taxes in europe or USA are lower. That was what Nissan Middle East explained to me long time ago. Some of the cars are not even GCC Specs and are not for sale in the UAE Market.

now that makes sense. i have seen the same scene at aweer and i guess the photos are from there also. if the companies are too clever to show themselves too busy with the high demand not to lower the prices, they would be clever enough to hide these vehicles at a place far from the curious eyes. :D

i guess this is a strategy of the manufacturers, but in the way jeanloup explains.
