Hi I am new to this Club. I recently purchased a BMW 528i 2001 model after much thought since lots of people were discouraging me due to the maintenance cost. But I just wouldn't have been able to console myself if I had bought any other car. I was dreaming of owning a BMW 5 series for a very long time and I finally bought one. I know it is a very old model, but I just wanted to own one...tats it. Could you guys please let me know what to look for in terms of old BMW's and any preventive maintenance that I should go for. The car does make a noise on start up, it sounds like the belt and it does stop after the engine heats up. Any idea why this is happening?
