Hi guys, my name is Eric. I am a new owner of a BMW in Mirdif, Dubai. I recently purchased a 2001 E46 M3 from a guy in my company who was leaving the country. I am currently going through the process of getting it back up to date, i.e.: getting the tools, keys, manuals that are missing. Just got the windows tinted and interior and exterior detailing. Also half done with fitting new tires (front set had to be ordered). Very nice car and am happy with it. Also interested in replacing or upgrading the factory radio/nav unit, if anyone has seen this done before. Thanks for the add to the club and let me know when the next meet is so I can pass my dues to the board. (pre-tint and detailing pics attached)

Did it used to park in the building next to Shangri-la on Sheikh Zayed Road? used to see one there and this is a pretty close fit :)

From what I remember the boyz saying, changing the radio/tv unit is a bit of a headache... they'll be around shortly to give their opinions

Nice ride you have, very clean looking. I'm already looking at grill, emblem, and light upgrade and replacement kits to swap out for some of the weathered pieces.

Not sure if it was the same one you've seen there. It used to be in Al Ain (apparently the only one there).

And DoPushUps is an old handle I use, as I am a military instructor here.

I agree about the car. I rationalized buying it because I need a second vehicle when the wife gets here next week. (My other is a Jeep Wrangler, necessary for my work here), but not sure how much she'll get to drive it now, as it is a very addictive car.

hehe... a reasonable explaination for buying the M3 then :) some of the boyz here had light upgrades done to their cars, I think they order the lights off ebay but I'll let them tell u personally. As for the grill I just had mine painted in the cars color.

Military instructor... should be interesting since u're the only one in the military between us :D yes Hasan I know u trained with the Turkish army as well... u're an engineer now!! hehe...

Retrofitting the radio/TV/nav is possible, as long as you can reprogram and code the car accordingly. Also, some of these swaps require some wiring harnesses. You can check this online for more detailed DIYs...
