Track Days/Evenings allow drivers and riders to explore the performance of their cars/motorcycles in a controlled and safe environment. It is an opportunity to drive on a race track without the constraints, restrictions and invariable risks of a public road. Race control officials monitor each session through the CCTV system which covers the entire circuit. Safety cover on the track is run to strict international standards, with marshal’s posts manned, and safety trucks, ambulance and paramedic services available throughout the event.
The timetable of the event depends largely on the configuration of the circuit being used and on the amount of sessions offered. On a Track Day there would normally be 4 x 20 min sessions, and on a Track Evening 3 x 20 min sessions. Sessions are not timed and are non-competitive. Throughout the year all configurations of the circuit are used for Track Days – the Club, National, International and GP. For Track Evenings, only the Club circuit is used which has state of the art floodlights.
The timetable for each event will normally be issued at least a week before the Track Day/Evening. The timetable contains the price, the safety standards, the format of the event and the timings. The Track Days/Evenings are run out of a designated Pit Garage or the Tech Bay; the use of the Pit Garage is included in the fee. Pit garages are equipped with electricity, bathrooms and access to water. Pit garages will be accessible for you to drop your car/motorcycles off anytime on the day of the event. It is not possible to drop your car/motorcycles off the day before. Before being released onto the track, participants must have completed registration, their vehicle passed a safety check (scrutineering) and attended the riders/drivers briefing.
It is strongly advised that participants bring their cars or motorcycles down to the track fueled and with your tyres fully inflated. While it may be possible to borrow fuel or a compressor from fellow participants, fuel is not available for purchase at the track nor is a compressor supplied.
Overview
Any standard road worthy car may participate in a DAMC Car Track Day/Evening at Dubai Autodrome. Drivers must be in possession of a valid, current drivers licence, and must wear a helmet at all times while on the track. If you do not own a helmet, you may hire one on the day for 30AED.
Important note: Novices need to attend a Novice Track Day/Evening before they can progress onto the fully fledged Track Day/Evening.
One to One Instruction
Tuition from one of the Dubai Autodrome Race & Drive Centre instructors is available for car drivers on the track day by prior arrangement at an additional charge of 300AED. On Track Days/Evenings the tuition would be in your own car. Seperate tuition - not on Track Days/Evenings - can be booked through the Race & Drive Centre. Email Mary Jane for further information.
