Al Ain Raceway Ladies Karting Event...Wish I were one!!

Guys will never have such an offer!!! :(

Here you go ladies, lifetime experience!

Al Ain Raceway will be hosting a Sprint Heats Open Race for ladies only on Saturday 17th January 2009 at 3:00pm.

Al Ain Raceway would like to invite all female drivers, beginners or experienced, to book into this exciting race format. There will be no sweaty men on the track - other than the Race Directors and Marshals running the event – so it's the perfect chance for the fairer sex to see what all the fuss is about! If you have always wanted to have a go at karting and felt too intimidated then this is an ideal event to get you started.

Availability is on a first come first served basis and places are limited so it is essential to book in early to avoid disappointment. Entry can only be confirmed once the payment has been made in full – this can be done in either of two ways:

    1. In person at Al Ain Raceway by cash or credit card.

    2. By bank transfer to Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (Mussaffah Branch), Account Name: Pro Motorsports, Account No: 1 – 110935 – 6

If you have any questions or require any further information please do not hesitate to contact us on 03-768-6662.

    Kind regards,

    Alex Crace
    (Al Ain RaceWay)

    The Format:

    · Practice

    · 3 x Qualifying Heats

Each driver will take part in 3 qualifying Heats which will be run over a distance of approximately 5 km (6 laps). Points are awarded according to the finishing positions in each Heat. Drivers with equal points at the end of the Heats will have their overall ranking decided by their best lap time throughout the event.

    · Pre-Final

At the conclusion of the Heats, the lower-ranking drivers (determined by the accumulation of points scored during the Heats) are eliminated from the event whereas the higher-ranking drivers qualify to race in a 6.5km Pre-Final (9 laps). Points scored by drivers in the Pre-Finals are added to their Heats points to produce a driver grand total and this decides who will progress through to the Grand Final.

    Grand Final

The Grand Final is run over 9 km (12 laps) with the first 3 drivers across the finish line receiving top honours and a trophy on the podium.

    The event will include:

    · The provision of safety equipment (helmet, gloves, race suit). Please note that footwear is not supplied and all drivers are required to wear suitable flat-soled shoes or trainers (open-toed sandals and high-heels are not permitted).

    · Full safety briefing to cover rules, kart controls and format

    · Mandatory Practice Sessions

    · Full race timing with lap time print outs for all drivers

    · Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 individual drivers at the podium presentation at the end of the race.

    Time: 15:00 - 18:30hrs

    Price: AED 300 per driver

( payments can be made through F1 net cafe and we'll forward on to Alex ...if it helps anyone ... )

Please note that all drivers must be over 16 years of age to compete in this race event (14 years of age if the driver possesses a valid kart race licence)

    Regards,

    Sandy N
