The Friday session for the Chevrolet Supercars is actually the qualifying session. So once again, going to be qualifying first time out on a new track.

If you have a three-day ticket you can enjoy the heart stopping action at Yas Marina Circuit as well as complimentary entry to the concerts being held on Yas Island every night between Thursday October 29th and Sunday November 1st. Artists featured are Beyonce (Thursday, 29 October ), Jamiroquai (Friday, 30 October ), The Kings of Leon (Saturday, 31 October ) and Aerosmith (Sunday, 1 November ).
If you have a two-day ticket (Saturday/Sunday) you can attend the track plus the concerts on those days only.
To make the most of your Grand Prix experience, read the following information and share it with those attending the event with you:
              IMPORTANT POINTS TO REMEMBER
              • You must have a valid ticket to enter Yas Island and the Circuit.– please wear your ticket at all times
              • If you want to drive to the event you must have your valid car parking permit for that day affixed to your windscreen
              • However you are travelling, allow plenty of time for your journey – traffic will be heavy and delays are likely at peak periods. You are encouraged to use public transport from Park and Ride locations listed below to make your journey as enjoyable as possible.
              • Please don’t try to bring prohibited or restricted items into the circuit. See the list below.
              • Gates open at 9am Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
              • Parking overnight is prohibited, unless valid permits for both days are displayed.
              • If you have not received your tickets via courier you must go to the Ticket Office, located at Etihad Airways Headquarters building, before attempting to access Yas Island. Directions and a map to the Ticket Office can be found at www.yasmarinacircuit.ae along with full event information. You can also call our ticket hotline on 800-F1 (800-31)
              Q. ABOUT YOUR TICKET
RIGHT TICKET FOR THE RIGHT DAY
Your ticket must be WORN AND VISIBLE at all times while you are at the circuit. Please ensure you have the right ticket each day. It’s marked clearly on the ticket.
REMEMBER- You will not be permitted onto the island without a valid ticket for that day

Your ticket contains an electronic chip which prevents copying and fraudulent use and allows you access to your grandstand only, via electronic turnstiles. Other than for the Paddock Club™, every ticket represents a specific seat in a specific grandstand. You do not have the right to sit in any seat other than the one on your ticket.
Any ticket holder may visit the F1 Oases, located to the rear of the Main Grandstand and North Grandstands and between the South and Support Pit Building Grandstands.
              TICKET OFFICE
If you have not received your tickets via courier you must go to the Ticket Office, located at Etihad Airways Headquarters building, before attempting to access Yas Island.
Directions and a map to the Ticket Office can be found here
              LOST OR DAMAGED TICKETS
If you lose or damage your ticket once you are inside the circuit, you will need to seek help from a customer service representative. Customer service representatives are dressed in orange shirts and caps, with the words “Customer Service” clearly visible on their shirts – you may also visit our clearly marked Information booths located at each Grandstand. Our event staff will be happy to assist you.
If you lose your ticket before the event, you must seek a replacement before traveling to the island. You can get a replacement by going to our Ticket Office at the Etihad Airways Headquarters Building. See the location of the ticket office here.
The person whose name appears with the booking will either need to collect the replacement ticket, or be available and contactable by phone. This is important to enable the Customer Service representative at the ticket office to verify key details of the booking.
IMPORTANT- If you are unable to provide the seat number(s) that you have misplaced, we may be unable to re-issue your ticket and you will be unable to attend the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
If you have any ticketing enquiries, please call the hotline 800-F1 (800-31)
              CAR PARKING
Everyone who purchased tickets automatically received a car parking space at or near the circuit. Car parking capacity is limited so parking permits have been issued at the ratio of one car parking space for every three tickets purchased. So, if you bought one, two or three tickets, you receive one space . If you bought four, five or six tickets, you will get two car parking spaces and so on.
The car parking permits are inside your ticket pack. The colour of the permit is the same as your car park. So if you have a RED permit, once you get close to Yas Island you need to follow the directions to the RED car park. It’s that simple. Once there, our staff will show you where to park. Depending on which car park you are in, you will either walk to your Grandstand or catch a shuttle bus for the short journey to your seat. There are many shuttle buses and they will run throughout the day.
You must have the car parking permit displayed on your windscreen to be allowed on to Yas Island and into the car parks. Look at the reverse of the permit for instructions on how to put it on your windscreen. You’ll also find directions there to help you to find your car parking space.
Just as you have a ticket for each day, you also have a car parking permit for each day. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE RIGHT CAR PARKING PERMIT AND THE RIGHT TICKETS BEFORE YOU LEAVE HOME.
Each permit contains a barcode which prevents copying and fraudulent use. One marked space is available for each permit holder in the car park noted on the permit, and as instructed by parking staff. Any car parked elsewhere, or using more than one space, will be towed away and impounded.
Of course you DON’T HAVE TO DRIVE to the circuit. You may prefer to take public transport. Details of public transport services are below.
              PIT LANE WALK
Every person who has purchased a three-day ticket will also be entitled to access Yas Marina Circuit on Thursday, 29 October to participate in the Pit Lane Walk.
The Pit Lane Walk will allow you to see the teams preparing their cars in the garages for practice on Friday. You will never get closer to Formula 1™ than this!
The Pit Lane Walk will start at 2:00pm with last entry at 3:45pm. THE CIRCUIT WILL NOT BE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC OUTSIDE OF THESE TIMES. Depending on the type of ticket you have, you may be shuttled by bus from your car park or public transport drop-off point to the circuit. MAKE SURE YOU ARRIVE IN PLENTY OF TIME TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT.
Your ticket is for entry to the Pit Lane Walk only and does not allow access to any grandstand. Food and drink will be available for purchase in the vending area behind the Main Grandstand.
International music artist- Beyonce-will be appearing live in concert adjacent to the circuit on the Thursday evening – you are free to enjoy facilities at the Main Grandstand until the beginning of the concert. Shuttle buses to the concerts will be available.
              PADDOCK CLUB
If you have a Paddock Club™ ticket, it will give you entry to a specific suite in the Pit Building. The name of the suite is on your ticket. There is seating inside and outside your suite.

Ticket holders who choose to collectively hire a minibus (equivalent to “Coaster size”) to attend the Grand Prix, and who have a parking permit must proceed to the ‘Lime’ car park. On arrival, car parking staff will direct the vehicle to the ‘Lime’ car park, especially designated for such vehicles.
Important: Please ensure you place one and only one of your parking permits against the windscreen of the minibus. If you do not place a parking permit against the windscreen of your bus you will not be allowed access to Yas Island. Note that for this type of vehicle, any colour permit is acceptable for entry to the ‘Lime’ car park.
              Coaches (above 25 person capacity)
Limited parking is available in the Gateway Park area for coaches from Abu Dhabi.

The driver may then drive to the nominated colour park and drop you off so you are able to catch a shuttle directly to your grandstand. The driver may park and wait for you or alternatively leave the island and return later. The parking permit will allow them to access the island and coloured car park when driving to collect you at the end of the day.
If you do NOT have a parking permit you must go to one of the conveniently located Park and Ride stations – see above for further details.

              MOBILITY IMPAIRED CUSTOMERS
Yas Marina Circuit prides itself on providing easy access for all of its visitors.
All Grandstands have full access for mobility impaired customers, including car parking and lifts. Specific areas have been designed to ensure that our mobility impaired guests enjoy as much of the action as possible.
Should you require any assistance please call 800 F1 (800-31) or +971 2 4460 384 outside of the UAE and we will be more than happy to help ensure you have a fantastic Formula 1 experience.
              GETTING AROUND YAS ISLAND
There are several modes of transportation around Yas Marina Circuit and Yas Island. You can walk, take the shuttle bus service, and/or take the ‘Circuit Circular’ which will continuously operate from point to point around the circuit.
              Shuttle Buses
If you are parked remotely from the circuit, shuttle buses are provided. Follow the signs to the shuttle bus pick up point.
Each shuttle bus has just one designated stop at the circuit. Remember the stop where you get off the bus; you can board at the same stop to leave the circuit.
On Thursday, a special service will operate between car parks and the Main Grandstand bus station for the Pit Lane Walk, which starts at 2:00pm.
              Circuit Circular
This service will operate on the circuit perimeter, linking stops either at, or a short walk from the grandstands, hotels and marina (see Circuit map for route and stops). Alternatively, you are free to walk around the perimeter area to visit different parts of the circuit.
Services: from 9:00am – 22:00pm each day, at least every 15 minutes – more often at busy times.

              WHY THE RUSH?
To avoid the heaviest periods of traffic after the racing activities or concerts, delay your departure if you can; take advantage of the F1 Oasis activities or the concerts provided free for your entertainment.
              ENTERTAINMENT DURING THE DAY
Fabulous racing is not the only thing you can expect from a visit to the 2009 Formula 1™ Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
The F1 Oases will offer a huge range of entertainment for the entire family including beatbox champion Beardyman, London’s best kept secret Nathan Flutebox, extreme martial arts dance group EnergetriX and Graffiti artist Sebastian Easton AKA the Urbanist.
Internationally acclaimed soul group PB Underground will have the privilege of being joined onstage by Basement Jaxx singer Sharlene Hector, and world record holding football and basketball freestylers will be showcasing their skills.
Think that’s enough? We don’t. There will also be professional bubble maker Samsam Bubbleman, Planet Jump Rope, Unicyclist Jason Auld, Dubai Drums, Disruptive Play, local DJ’s DJ Iris and DJ Adnan, and look out for art like you have never seen before from Ian Cook, the remote controlled car painter.
Coming with the kids? Let them play on one of the bouncy castles in the Kid’s Areas and have their faces painted by the cool F1 Kid’s Crew.
If that’s not enough, one of the city’s most diverse and ambitious entertainment programmes, ‘Yasalam’ will definitely keep you entertained on and off the circuit. The programme includes entertainment and events from the Corniche, at universities, shopping malls and at Yas Island itself.

              ARRIVE EARLY
This is one of the largest sporting events the UAE has ever hosted, and therefore ample time is required prior to arriving to avoid heavy congestion in the approach to Yas Island and to ensure you don’t miss any of the action.
