The TOYO Tires 24 Hours of Dubai is here again!! 8-10 January with racing starting on the 9th :danceclub:
With a high interest, in total 107 registered teams for the 2009 edition of the Toyo Tires 24 Hours of Dubai (follow this link to find an updated entry list) a full start grid with 90 cars are expected to line up at Dubai Autodrome for the start of the race on 9 January 2009.
The current financial turmoil in the world, is probably causing that some teams are delaying their payments. On the other hand already 60 teams have paid their complete entry fee and are ready to go to Dubai.
Teams are accepted on a first come, first take part basis. As soon as the maximum of 90 paid entries will be reached, additional teams will be put on a waiting list. Again an international field with teams and drivers coming from many different countries across the globe. Last year, drivers from over 35 different nationalities took part.
The goal is simple: to have a great race and a good time in Dubai during the days building up to the event and of course the 24 Hour race itself.
With a mix of semi-pro and professional teams, the goal will be to concentrate on the basic values of racing together: thus the organisers have invited only teams who have respect for each other, the cars, the equipment and opinions. This in order to get the right atmosphere during this event organisers, Crventic, have requested that all teams, no matter how big or small, to help each other out when one having problems. This is what makes the series particularly popular with serious endurance racers.
