power steering issue ?

hey guys, i need some help on this ! 3 days ago my car started (shivering) when ever i turn the steering wheel at low speed i can even feel it below my feet , and it makes some kinda little noise , and the wheel turns a little heavier (my steering wheel is pretty light) . i checked the power steering fluid level and its a little ... short !
i didnt want to add any to it because i read somewhere its not the best thing to do , its better to drain it and replace it ?

so , wat do u thing people ? is it a bigger issue ? or should i REplace the Power Steering fluid ?

Well adding power steering oil wouldn't harm your system. However, symptoms like that indicate a faulty steering pump...

You're having a leak or multiple ones from one of your system components. Keep it like this and you'll end up replacing the pump ($$$$)

add fluid first and then take it from there. a leak or a faulty powersteering pump could be the cause.

maybe a bit more description on how that noise sounds could make it easier for us to determine if it was a steering pump noise or something else. post a video if you can

mr. president how much will it cost to replace the pump ? T.T (just in case)

Too early to say it's the pump....But they're usually arond 700dhs for a used one, and around the 3,000 for a new one.

Don't mean to hijack the thread but i also got an issue with my power steering....if i turn it to full left then full right then full left etc. while at a stand it becomes heavy as if I'm losing the power steering. If i rev the car when it becomes heavy, it turns smooth again as if i got pressure back again.
i checked and changed the oil, no leaks. Pump :( ?

update :

i just added some ATF transmission fluid and its alot better , the noise is gone and its all good again , hope it wont be leaking badly , appreciate all ur help guys !

I am so in the same boat - the noise only happened when the car was warming up, but for the first hard turn (in the car park) it made a 'hydraulic' whining sound with a vibration in that corner. Added more fulid and it is now fine, but I need to replace the leaking pipes (2).

Ayhams' guys were great - highly recommended! :D
