    CHANGED : E46 M3 Rotors & Pads

    I thought I'd like to share my happiness with you since i changed my front rotors and pads. I was thinking of upgrading to CSL Rotors & Pads, but unfortunately i didnt have the time plus i was hearing a very unsatisfying sound from my brakes... lol Bruno, Haissam and MoE were making fun of rotors sound so I just wanted to change them as quick as possible...

    Prices are as follows :

    Front Pads : 590 AED (Pair)
    Front Rotors : 1845 AED (Pair)
    Brake Feeler : 50 AED (Single Left)

        Can't beat mine when I changed 'em, I had cracks in both front disks and a WARPED right front disk! But at the time I haven't bought the car yet so held back till it was undoable anymore....

        You're gonna start hearing an annoying sound now, kinda loud. It comes out when strolling really slowly and goes when you fully stop the car. It'll stay for about 4 days as it wears out.

          I think it would serve the members to check their brakes more regularly so the maintenance costs don't get out of hand. Having to change rotors with every brake pad shouldn't have to be done unless you're racing. Even then, racers can stretch rotor life by changing the pads BEFORE they start to eat in to the rotor with the brake pad backing.

          Every 1000 Kms, just take a peek and see how much "meat" is still on the pad. When things are looking thin, it's time to change them. Usually, a slight "skim" of the rotor (milling the rotor for flatness) will get things going like new.

          Oh, and don't forget to break-in those new pads. Each manufacturer has their own way of doing this so be sure to consult those instruction manuals before driving away. New pads don't bite too well as there is a coating that keeps the material bonded together. Breaking them in is a way of "cooking" or burning off this coating and making the pad solid.

              I got them from Central Parts in shj for 250 AED less than Agency .... Agency would have cost me around 3K but i got them for around 2650 AED if my memory doesn't disappoint me !
