    Hamann coilovers

    Bought these from Hamann Motorsport, Laupheim Germany. Got them shipped to Dubai and installed by a local shop. These coilovers are actually KW suspension, but are specially made according to Hamann specs (springs stifness, rebound, etc..). They also have 2 types of springs on top of each other, this is supposed to improve ride quality, its called "street comfort" version.

    Ride hieght is ofcourse adjustable, comes by default as 40mm front, 20mm back. But after I've installed the BBS wheels, we had to raise the height by 5mm front/back to avoid slight rubbing.

    Ride quality is Very good. On straight roads, they feel stock, but slight bumps on the road will shake you a bit. Driving on curves is a fantasy now! I reach nearly 100mph on highway curves, and you just dont feel a thing, the car is "locked" on the track !

    Handling can be further enhanced by Sway bars to reduce body roll, Im planning for H&R according to feedback from other forums members.

    Overall, if you get used to driving with coilovers, you cannot drive without them ;)

            The two different springs in each shock/strut are called "progressive springs"; not ideal for track performance but spot-on for street applications. How they work is that by having 2 different spring rates on the same shock, the softer spring will deflect first upon initial compressing (weight transfer) from the weight of the car put on that assembly (shock + 2 springs).

            Upon further deflection from more compressing on the same assembly, a threshold is reached where the softer spring is fully compressed and the stiffer spring will start compressing now, this is when you feel the car got all stiff suddenly after it initially allowed for some body roll when cornering. The mathematical relationship governing the compression force (F), spring rate (K), and spring deflection (D) is:

            F = K x D

            K in your case is the sum of both spring rates. If you ask for the specs, they'll give you a mean value between the two.

                        hmm... might be interesting to try ! however those 21's arent a good choice for a track I suppose...

                        I never driven in the track before, however my cousin (MKB) is a well known trackoholic lol, currently driving a Vette.

                        I think I might start with the driving school first, don't feel like smashing any walls from the beginning lol
