    Performance Clutch vs 3.91 Diff

Hello all, I need my car to respond faster when I want it to.. I thought of those setups..

I'm thinkin of the following :

    1) HPF Clutch & Light Weight Fly Wheel with stock diff (3.64).
    2) 3.91 Rear Diff with my current OEM Clutch & Fly Wheel.
    3) OEM Clutch & Fly Wheel with OEM Diff (Current).
    4) HPF Clutch & OEM Fly Wheel with OEM DIFF.

    I need expert information regarding

    - Costs
    - Rattling sounds
    - Power difference (0-100 & top speed)
    - Overall performance (Response)
    - Lifetime

Replies will be much much appreciated...

    Thanks all

    RiFo

this is as far as i understand (correct me if i am wrong) a public forum, where people share ideas on how to make the bmw lifestyle better and more pleasurable and enjoyable..where we benefit from others mistakes and learn from our own ,share experiences..all in a common goal to make everything and everyone better, not the opposite.. do i need to remind everyone of all the laughs we had and how many times we shared food and shisha together..how many times we all stayed up late to fix anothers friend (brother) issues?? This is what makes a community, us, people..a common understanding and fellowship..respect

With stock power figures, it's pointless to go for high-end, expensive kits. The driving experience will be unpleasant to say the least with no apparent gains compared to the mini fortune you'd be spending. And higher ratio will only worsen your situation.

OEM everything is more than capable.

I know of a Guy who has modded his E39 M5’s Diff without upgrading the clutch first.
I would think that you will need to upgrade to a performance unit once the diff ration is changed…but that might just be a Bruno thing to do (Absolutly no offence meant Bruno:) )…prevention better than cure approach…although that attitude is to commended, I don’t think the clutch need immediate attention if you opt for the new diff.
At the end of the day, it’s your personal choice and as Ayham has stated, less future problems with OEM…but it sounds like you have a Demon on your shoulder shouting "“FASTER FASTER FASTER"” in to your ear, and this little guy cannot be ignored, so go with the new Diff:)....IMHO.

          Lol BB no offence taken,

go with the OEM flywheel and HPF clutch... changing the diff? no need for that. for such a price i would rather put in some extra cash and pamper the car with a FI kit. But that's just me.

Honestly at one point i was thinking of going through all these stuff for my car but then after looking at the clutch itself i figured out that it's a good substitute for our current OEM clutch maintaining ride quality and longevity. and it is on my wish list lol so no need to go with all these stuff.

voted for stock coz i think you'd better get a good software to stretch the rev limiter & collect a few good ponies ;)

remember wael's silver vert that had the software :msolved:
