What is this??

Can someone enlighten me as to what the red circled part is?? Looks like a ABS. My car does not have anything in that area and when I search through some websites, some e46 m3s have them and some don't.

Anyone any ideas? Note that even the engine oil sticker is located in different place. Mine is exactly like the one in the bottom picture.

That is the DSC control unit and dont even think how much does it cost :nono:

Sticker location is probably from different batches/MY.

And NO e46 M3 came out without a DSC unit.

BMW moved the DSC/ABS system to the other side of the engine compartment (about under the brake master cylinder) around 2002/3 or so.

they left you a big space over there to store things ;)

In E39 M5s you literally got no space, its all jam packed, take a look
