OBDll Connector - Speed Indicator Confusion??

So I've recently purchased this:



And it is working absolutely amazing in my car like that:




Now the only problem is this, when I'm traveling at a speed of 147 kph (that is showing on my speedometer) the OBDll connector displays 135 kph. This is pretty confusing as both speeds are given from the car itself, the 147 is taken from the dash itself and the 135 is being read from the ECU. Now I want to know why am I having this difference in speed reading, and what is the reason behind that?

Hi Rafik,

That's normal. our dashboard speedometers add a correction to actual speed its like a conservative margin. there is a code for this to show the actual speed without the margin.

I think my dash is the one giving the wrong (extra) reading. What the hell!

The app is for 200+ AED? did you pay for it or got the APK from google?

Yup i paid for it but u have to download the trial version before buying it to check if its working with your OBD adapter
Otherwise u have to use a dkan cable direct or buy their own adapter. And Btw it worth if you want i cannshow it to u in coming meeting

By coding, what do you mean exactly in your previous post. What things can you alter or change?

U can configure your car options like the following
Welcome lights
Mirror folding
Window roll up
Speed correction delete
Angeleyes
Seat belt warning
Service reset
Battery change registration

We're drifting a little bit on the issue itself here. I still am unable to determine why I have this difference in reading. it is about a 10% error, I don't think that is right.

All european cars have the correction factor except for Alpina cars. Not sure about the American cars. Japanese cars also don't have it. It has to do something with EU regulations.

The correction factor keeps increasing as the speed increases. However, a 10% correction factor at 147km/hr does seem high. On my car I get a correction factor of around 4% on 140km/hr.
