To foil, or not to foil?

My friend says he can get high grade foil for 2 to 3k which is really reasonable considering how expensive it was a few years ago.

.....but I've heard some nasty stories about the heat in this region and foil..

Like maybe its a good idea for a year or two but no longer.

    Any comments?

I seriously doubt u can get good foil for that amount... I would definitely pay anything more if there is a guarantee that the foil wont ruin my car's original color.. the heat will do wonders to foil I think and if you dont pay what it should be worth then I'd think twice about it... saying that, the price quotations I'm hearing from the higher end places are astronomical!! waaaaaaaay too expensive!

Foil is so 2009... lol Rule of thumb, when something becomes much cheaper than it was... it's not cool anymore!

For that price Id sure be curious what kind of foil they're using, see how many years and what warranty they offer then go ahead if you feel like foiling your car..

I know a friend who had used those cheap foils on an E60 M5, the right side of his car had to be repainted at the dealer once again because the foil had peeled off the paint from the body while removing, so be careful..

Thanks, the price is so low because he is a good friend with many connections.

But I'll be sure double check the warranty and type of foil beforehand. Appreciate the advice.

oracle 8000-9000 series should be available at that price. Its a very good film and will not ruin your car paint upto 5 years.

Foiling can have great or crappy results, all depends on the quality like said above if your getting a deal for that price what is the regular coast?

Scenes like this are becoming more common around here! Look what they did to my Lexus.. I'm considering foiling my car!

Either go for satin, but that would look stupid on a red car, or foil it sepang bronze just like my M5! What do you guys think?
