    Hello Everyone!

Lets all try to guess the HP (European Standard) of the new M5 and when the the car is launched, we shall see who made the best guess.

I think it shall be 585 HP with 710 NM Torque.

That article just gives a range.

We are looking for precise numbers.

Besides, the Audi RS 6 has 580 HP. They have to go above that.

This kind of torque is physically tire-shredding. I think it'd be in the 500ib.ft area.

                  Mr. President!

With all due respect, the X5M and the X6M already have 680 NM Torque with 555 HP.

If they boost up the HP on the M5, the Torque should follow suit.

However, I totally agree with you. So much torque is not easy to handle with 2 wheels. This is why I believe it is about time we saw the AWD X5.

I face the same problem with my Alpina. The torque is simply too much for 2 wheels (especially without the LSD) and the DSC has to kill the power to allow the car to move. This is why I am hoping that the LSD would allow better utilisation of the torque.

^ but they might go for a higher redline and hence lose a bit on torque, if i'm not mistaken :dunno:

                    i'll go for 570HP & 666NM

Hmm Audi RS6 TT 5.0 V10 already produces 580 hp, I think the M5 will have to produce a bit more than that even tho the engine will be by 600cc smaller

it doesn't have to........... if it's 50kg lighter it can have like 15HP less and still win :P :P of course that's theoretical coz peak HP means nothing in the real world, it's all about the HP curve.. you only spend like 5% of the time pushing peak HP in a race and for the remaining 95% you're on other parts of the power curve ;)
