Welcome to the club ..
Please introduce yourself in the new member section .. which is a must for the new members ..
your issue is wtih the gearbox itself .. so either you have the wrong gearbox fitted to your car ( for example : you have V8 4.4L engine and they replaced your gear with V8 4.0L engine ) or you have a faulty valve body . no one will be able to give you the right answer , so the best option for you is to take it to a BMW Specialist ..
good luck

This is done with the aid of a GT1!
Providing that the gearbox is the correct spec for your car?

You must also realise that there is a very unique way to change the gearbox oil and it can only be done through a GT1 at certain temperatures and then you adapt the valve body!
Have you checked your gearbox oil level and has it been changed with the aid of a GT1 ?
You can not just change the oil like a conventional gearbox ! the gears would just not shift ? This is what I have been taught !
Once again get it hooked up to a GT1 you will know a alot more regarding your issues!

i have the same simptoms, it all started with a "TRANS FAILSAFE PROG" in the dash -which abviously was a dead Battery thing.
battery was replaced but now the car will not shift unless it reaches to RPM 4 and then hard shift is happening.
Please keep me posted if any update.Last edited by immune; 08-06-2010, 08:01 AM.

Hello,
UPDATE,
mine turned out the the guy who was working in the car has mixed up the throttle body connectors "Black" with the ICV connector "white", which resulted a rough idle. -See the pic-.
for the gear shifting after RPM 4, it was the connectors as well where 2 connectors were not connected properly, disconnecting and reconnecting them resolved the issue.
now the beast is again on the streets :)
good luck with yours.Attached FilesLast edited by immune; 08-06-2010, 08:16 AM.
