Z3 coupe 'rebuild' -> help required

alright guys, i need some serious help here. was trying to sell my '99 coupe for a few dirhams with no takers .. so now am considering a proper make-over. car needs to be repainted (w all the dents beaten out of it), engine tuned up, suspension redone, A/C fixed, interior cleaned ... and .. the biggest project ... conversion of AUTO tranny to MANUAL ! where do you think this can be done? is it too much of a headache or a straight forward job? would it be easier just dropping in an engine w a manual tranny ? anyone have any experience with this kind of a project ?

hey bruno, ya, the car is driveable ... its just that i found a decent deal on a '00 Z3 with manual transmission, so i wanted to see if anyone knows whether or not the trannys are interchangeable.
