Mileage is irrelevant with a vehicle this age. If you are checking oil levels constantly and not just relying on the light as many oil level sensors go bad on those era cars and not seeing any leaks you are burning it. The consumption would def be an internal cause more than likely blowby from worn out piston rings. That's the only explanation for oil consumption without leaks on those motors IMO.

If you haven't found a solution or a diagnostic yet. Have a shop perform a leakdown test. Should verify worn piston rings and likely worn valve seals as well. Just wear and tear items and comes with age.
