    Removing Intake Manifold for Cleaning.....

    Hey guys,

Most of you knew that i had a problem with oil going to the manifold and not draining back quickly as it should (S50B30 Defect from BMW)....

Today i had 3 hours to kill so i said what the hell lets clean it :wiggle:

    Car: 1994 BMW M3.
    Engine: S50B30 3.0L.

    Tools needed:-
    1. Two hands
    2. 10mm Socket
    3. 14mm socket
    4. Two hands again

Open your hood and support it incase ur hood lifter aint working (Like mine)

    1. Unplugg ur MAF sensor wire, and move it away.

    2. unscrew the two 10mm nuts holding the Air Box (ur gonna remove it)

    3. Unscrew the two clamps holding the Air Duct & the MAF tube to remove everything away from manifold.

Ull end up with something like this.....

    4. Unhook ur throatle cable (easier since its in the way)

    5. start un screwing the 10mm nuts that hold the manifold.

    6. Remove....
    A. Vaccum line (BIG HOSE) under the Manifold
    B. Remove the cable connceted to Air Temp. sensor.
    C. Remove hose connected to the BREATHER (Stupid un capable BREATHER). This is the valve that drains back the oil gathered in the manifold.

    7. Unscrew 2 14mm nuts holding the manifold to the brakets and VOWALLAAA!!!!

Take a look on the oil inside the manifold

Air Duct ( Gonna install the new one Thanks MARWAN)

And the MAF........ I would've been screwed if i didnt have the Alpha-N

Now am gonna clean Everything and find a way to enlarge the oil breather (have to search) and put back things together.

Before leaving the car, and leaving the ITB i covered them.....

Ever since I've known you and my hands have almost always been black :D

Points 6 & 7; it would make this thread more understandable if you could circle the things you talk about.

A solution for my problem is the

M3 GT Oil Restrictor......... which is 500 Euros

A Friend of mine is offering me an exact replica he made for his car and spared 5 more......for 200$ including post to anywhere.

      Ayham:
Remeber that A**hole who changed my clutch.....

Every vaccum line in my car is loose, every clamp is un tightened, and the manifold screws r not tightened also.............. My car had a MASSIVE vaccum leak.....

If i saw him i swear am gonna install my foot up his A** permenantly.

Finally i was able to put the car back together....

After i finished i couldnt wait (covered with grease) i cranked the monster wishing for the best, and VROOOMMM its alive....

Took it for a spin & a wash.........

                Things noticed:

                1. After cleaning the Individual Throttle Bodies (ITBs) and greasing the joints, throttle response is much better (MUCH BETTER).

                2. After fixing the massive vacuum leak (due to an incompetent mechanic) the car pulls really hard. Just like when i first bought here :yuhoo:

                Tips for the future:

If ur car feels sluggish (slow) or hesitating check ur vacuum lines :slap:

                    Hello Bashar
I've been looking for TB cleaner (Throttle Body) for a while now but haven't been able to find it. I'm trying to put my car back together but would love to clean the tb's since the motor is apart. I was only able to find carburater cleaner and thats not good to use with our tb's. Also what joints did you grease exactly?
                    Thanks

this is as far as i understand (correct me if i am wrong) a public forum, where people share ideas on how to make the bmw lifestyle better and more pleasurable and enjoyable..where we benefit from others mistakes and learn from our own ,share experiences..all in a common goal to make everything and everyone better, not the opposite.. do i need to remind everyone of all the laughs we had and how many times we shared food and shisha together..how many times we all stayed up late to fix anothers friend (brother) issues?? This is what makes a community, us, people..a common understanding and fellowship..respect
