SMG Paddle Shifters

Well, let me first start by my feedback on the SMG Extended paddle shifters we just received; CRAP! The fitment couldn't be any worse if they planned for it. The main reason is that the paddles have a smaller hole than the original paddles, thus the screw won't go through.

I've been at it for the past 2 hours, drilled the hole to make it a bit bigger. It fits now but it's a wee bit loose, need a smaller drilling bit and it'll work fine. But still, we're not supposed to drill or anything in the first place!

I just fit the ( - ) shifter for now and see if the looseness is alright or not. Otherwise, teflon tape FTMFW!!!!

P.S: Once I get the other one done with the exact drilling bit, I'll gladly do the rest of paddles for you lot.

hehe... I was screaming in the car last night as well!!! mine didn't fit so I called up Bruno to tell him about it! WTF?!?!

Ayham let me know when u get the right drill bit... this was the first piece I was going to install on the car and it failed... HORRIBLY!!

It gets better...

I didn't mind the looseness in the new paddle and said I'll try it and see. Strat the car, put gear in first, NOTHING! The car won't go into gear at all. Immediately swapped to the OEM ( - ) paddle, car goes into gear, but doesn't downshift from the paddle; only the gear stick!

Trying to trouble shoot it, I think the button inside the steering is gone or something. X-Service, here I come!!

Damn!!!!! I'm reading this thread, and i'm so surprised! the ones i got on ebay fit 100%! and no looseness whatsoever!
Looking at pictures of the ones you ordered, they look exactly like mine!
It must feel horrible after the long wait!

Actually, and being on my 3rd guinea-pig BMW, I tend to make the most outta such situations!!! So, the glass is half full but of the wrong thing this time :D

You can get a small tap and die set from Ace hardware, this way you can thread the holes while expanding to the correct diameter.
