Instructions to Program a new Master Key

    :taser:
Well I was looking around in Tuning & Tech
and I found one thread about keys range

that reminded me with one nice hint that i am sure it wokrs for the E46
dont know about others probably yes.. which is used for programming a new key for your car and at the same time i use this trick to joke around with friends since doing the steps first time will program the key and doing it again will reverse the program means that ur remote will no longer respond... dont worry just repeat that and see the magic

I hope you dont know it already and i guess this is not a duplicated post
please let me know if it is... but hay why not

You can also program the key yourself. All your keys get reprogrammed at the
same time. Here is how it is done (I did it many times).

Definitions: button 1 on the keys is the one closest to the metal part of
the key (this is the door open button); button 2 is the middle button (the
    door close button).

1.Open the car doors using the remote function of your working key.

2.Get in and close (don't lock) all the doors.

3.Put the key in the ignition and switch momentarily to position 1 which is
the first position when you turn the key clockwise. Don't stay in position 1 longer than 5 seconds; then turn the key back to the off position.

    4.Remove the key.

5.On the key transmitter, press and hold button 1. Press and release button
2 three times within 10 seconds while still pressing button 1.

    6.release button 1.

7.The system indicates re-programming by locking and immediately unlocking
    the door locks.

8.If you want to do more remotes, you must do each within 30 seconds of
step 7 for the preceding key. You just need to repeat steps 5 through 7 for
    each key after the first.

    ENJOY :shisha:

    thanks for the writeup :)

they did something similar the first time they programmed the key on my previous 330..

P.S. you should consider having a shisha signature instead of posting it every time

        Thanks folks

I belive that the late e36 had similar keys like the one we use for e46
and if i am not mistaken maybe it will work ... the only way to know is that someone tries it and let us know guys
but when u do it it feels really good dont ask me why lol

        cheers

E46 after 2001 changed the keys though
