    My Detailing Project Commences

finally i started the project which comprises the followings

    1- Body and paintwork
    2- Interior
    3- Engine bay
    4- Wheels
    5- Lights and window trims

as of now i finished body and interior which took my 5 fridays :)

    let me begin with what has been done on the body;

having searched the internet and the whole uae market, i decided to go with the most suitable products for a beginner. at the end i was not a proffessional (which i am still not), and my budget was not unlimited

yes, i did everything by myself and with the staff available on uae market

    BODYWORK:

the sequence of the events was as follows

1- Claybar (ICE Liquid Claybar available at ACE)

This is not the best thing u can use but it really works. After getting only the top part of the car clay bared, i easily felt the smoothness. It was ready for the paint cleaner and polish to be done subsequently.

2- Paint Cleaner (Meguiars 1 of 3 Step, available at ACE)
3- Polish (Meguiars 2 of 3 Step, available at ACE)

To do the 2 and 3, i used an random orbital polisher of Black & Decker brand. It is again not the most fan fu... tastic polisher in the world but i does the job. It did yes. and the best thing, since it is random orbital, it oscilates instead of revolving in a constant pattern. It makes it "idiot-proof" for the swirl marks. And, since i am a beginner, i can be classified as an idiot so no swirl marks :)

it is available at ACE and costs 230 AED only

4- Waxing (Meguiars Gold Class Wax by hand, available at ACE)

5- Glaze (Carplan Wonder Glaze by hand, available at ACE)

    and results...

it was not astonishing but when i noticed the part of the hood which i left undone from the beginning....dudes it well worthed!!!

the shine is deep and sexy, i was sooo happy when friend of mine asked me the reason why i got it re-sprayed :):) plus no swirl marks at all!!!

    and the pics...

being uploaded just a few seconds ;)

Tremendous job Hasan !! The hard work and the time you spent has definetely paid back.. All I can see is shine and no swirl marks atall, but i surely have to take a look in real to feel the smoothness as well..

Undoubtedly it is the cleanest E39 M5 on board

                RiFo, you called? :)

The E39 M5 uses a lot of flake in the paint, and done right, the depth can be easily achieved. It does take time, and experience to get it to mirror, but it can be done, using layering techniques to create depth. I'll have to see the car in person to see if the paint has been perfectly cleaned which is the primary key to getting a lot of depth and brilliance from the flake.

To be honest, the pics do look good, so kudos to pathfinder for his effort :)

thank you very much guys :)

the second part is the interior

it was a one-day-job, and quite simple...just washed everything washable and used Sonax cleaner then Meguiary Conditioner

@ SewerSideUp : total something around 500 AED for the consumables. But all the bottles are still 30% full. and 300 AED for the polisher and applicator pads...

@ Ssense : the next is your beast bro, u can't get away with saying good job, do not be lazy please!

again thanks everyone for the comments ;)
