CarX Explained ! ! !
Originally posted by Ayham View PostSaif, more info on this please...Any accessory hardware required with that? Or is it PnP?
its a software installed on PC, which can be an old spare laptop even without a screen, just need to have a video out, and a USB Connection to take IBUS messages to the laptop/PC. Works like this
IBUS Messages are tapped using IBUS Listening device, which costs around 100AED, which is usefull for other stuff like, reading CAR Tempratures which are broadcasted on IBUS Network, OIL Temp, CAR Temp, OUT Side Temp, INSIDE Temp, a lot of usefull information. Which can be integrated to bring to your Navigation screen.
Once the hardware setup is done, Then comes configuration, because its a Video in Stream, we have to read a signal on IBUS Network, when to switch screen between CarPC / Navi, which is accomplished using any of the spare buttons, like INFO Button on the top left corner of the navigation screen. It can be any button, as long as a message can be tapped on IBUS Network.
After that all the messages are interception by the CarPC. Thats a general overview, I can right up an article on this, let me know if someone is interested to know more.
Very usefull function of this is to get a Dignostic log which is very detailed, you wont beleive whats going on a CAR IBUS Network, from the moment you start the car and the moment you move the car. Which is one reason why i love BMW, where things makes more sense.
Thanks for reading up. I will be regular now on, so would be able to anwers quiries, unlike before.

Most poeple do it on their own, its not rocket science, but needs time, a forum member is working on same project. PM Ahmed.Sallam for the same. He is the expert in this matter.--------------------------------
