Search length string

Hey guys,
Would it be possible to reduce the search length string to 3 ? Being new here, I rather search for things I am wondering about rather then post new threads only to find the topic has been covered before, however since the length string is probably at the default - trying to search for strings such as E64 / 645 / 650 or even BMW returns :

The following words are either very common, too long, or too short and were not included in your search : bmw

It's fairly easy to adjust via the admin panel IIRC, understand if you'd rather not or if I have missed something

Just put an asterisk (*) before or after the word that you are searching for, this will make it search all words that contain the word you are looking for... example you want to search for 650, so you type in 650* and you will get words that begin with the word you are searching for like 650i or 650ci etc. if the asterisk is placed in front you will get words ending with your search word
