Alsa Engineering pulls 724 HP out of BMW X6 M with upgraded turbos

Alsa Automotive Engineering, based in Abu Dhabi, have tuned the BMW X6 M to an impressive 724 PS (533 kW / 714 bhp). The company's CEO, Mohammed Al Sayegh, says the over-700 horsepower figure was obtained with no modification to the engine's displacement, unlike the 715 PS (526 kW /705 bhp) X6 M tuned by German outfit Nowack Motors.

"[Nowack Motors] have produced that by making the car a 4.8 liter instead of keeping it at its 4.4 liter engine capacity," Al Sayegh told WCF.

The tuning package, which includes upgraded turbo compressor wheels, is also available for the X5 M. The new turbo components increase pressure up to 1.8 bar, but engineers did not stop there. Modifications were also made to the engine control unit, along with the installation of high-flow catalytic converters and straight pipes.

The result is an increase in horsepower of over 32 percent. Torque is also upgraded to a maximum of 945 Nm (697 ft-lb). The SUV is now capable of sprinting from 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, and on to 200 km/h in 14.6 seconds total. Alsa Automotive claims a 325 km/h (202 mph) top speed.

"We are the first and only company to have successfully modified the turbo's so that the car can run higher boost on stock engine," Al Sayegh said.

Pricing on the Alsa Automotive Engineering BMW X6 M package begins at 68,000 Arab Emirates Dirham (€15,086, $18,514).

Just imagine the potential the new M5 will have.

I would expect some Barabus like numbers there as well. 750 HP and 1000 NM torque.

However, the X6M is better suited for these numbers as it has X Drive.

On the other hand, the 550i with X Drive would give the M5 a real run for its money. With mods like this, the 550i with X Drive would be faster and more fun than the RWD M5.

Ofcourse, our friends at BMW ///M have already considered all this. So, what have they done about it?

Alright, I'm extatic about all this happening in UAE. That is a MILESTONE!!! Good tuning work and serious numbers!

But, alright. Let's consider this. Is 724hp and 945 N.m a wee bit too much for the rest of the car ? This is an automatic gearbox at the end of the day. And, who's going to have this upgrade when it throws your well loved warranty down the drain ?

Again, amazing to see this happen in the Emirates! This is proof that there are people who understand cars and changes the misleading trend of more money than sense...Proud to see this happening today!

Not when your engine costs somewhere in the 100,000AED range and a gearbox with a second runner up price tag...
