    Alloy Wheel Refurbishment

    Hiya guys,

Can someone recommend a very good, reliable alloy wheel refurb company/individual in Dubai, and roughly what they might charge per wheel? When i had my 330ci alloys refurb'ed in the UK, the guy actually came to my home and did the work in his van...does anything like that exist here?

I have a few minor scuffs on my OEM 19's and i'm a bit nervous that if i give them to the wrong person they might get ruined!

    :spank: you very much

i have one rim that is also damaged-left front. AGMC body shop quoted me AED750 per wheel. must be insane in the membrane to pay that-somebody on dubizzle is selling tyres and wheels for Z4-17 inchers for AED1000. shows you the value for money at AGMC.

I think X-service does it too... or you can ask Bruno and see how much it costs to do it at Falcon Garage

this is as far as i understand (correct me if i am wrong) a public forum, where people share ideas on how to make the bmw lifestyle better and more pleasurable and enjoyable..where we benefit from others mistakes and learn from our own ,share experiences..all in a common goal to make everything and everyone better, not the opposite.. do i need to remind everyone of all the laughs we had and how many times we shared food and shisha together..how many times we all stayed up late to fix anothers friend (brother) issues?? This is what makes a community, us, people..a common understanding and fellowship..respect

FYI, they take the rims to X Service which would charge you AED400 per rim!

Now, there's this one magical place in Shj Industrial Area that I could not believe how good their work was when I stumbled upon it some years ago. At the time, they charged AED100 per rim....

But that's IF you're willing to come down here....

If I want my rims too to get refurbished, will they paint them in the same shade as the original ? Is there any chance for the paint to peel off soon.. ?

It's located opposite to Al Habtoor showroom in Shj Industrial Area, the name is Al Bulghani. It's not a fancy place at all, but their work is professional.

I don't know honestly how much it'd take them to finish it. Couple of days maybe.

Thanks guys, i will try the places you have suggested. I'm a bit concerned because my rims are crome finished, rather than painted. I wonder how they will acheive the chrome finish if they can't simply fill the damaged areas and then respray over...

I will try X...they did do a great job with my engine bay detailing but i must say that they have failed on the repair to my faulty SMG paddle, which they said they had repaired but it has now stopped working again

Based on my UK experience, I'd expect to pay around 400-600aed per rim for this service. Each rim, if done properly, takes about an hour an a half, including removing the tyre, appyling and smoothing the hardening paste to the damaged area, then a full rim respray (not just on the damaged area) before baking the rim in an oven for around 30 minutes to set the paint.

Without questioning Ayhems recommendation at all (because he said the results were great), i do wonder exactly what work is being offered for 100aed per rim - perhaps just a simple repair and respray of the damaged areas only? Unless the whole rim is resprayed, you're going to get a noticable colour difference and edge-marks. I would suggest checking what the various companies are offering for the money, and don't be afraid to spend a few more dirhams to get a decent finish.

You get what you pay for. Just keep in mind that labour rate here is very cheap compared to the UK. If the job involves more labour than parts, then there would be a big diff. in price.
Anyway it seems that there is a lot of guys on this board who want to get their wheels redone, that would make it even a better price.
