It's really great will gain hp but oil filter type pain in the *** since the filter pass some dusts and with time it's damaging MAF !
Never used oem intake before so I don't know how it feels but I think dry type filter better then oil type?
As perfomace Gruppe m better at cost of your MAF.
I am going to order new filter for my intake and new MAF as well or trade with oem

i have a better idea... i think evolve have developed an Alpha-N solution for the s54 that will save you from potential MAF failure. so you don't have to worry about oil or dust spoiling your MAF.

if the map and alpha-N is not possible then your second best option is to run this aftermarket intake in th ewinter when the weather is friendly.

I had the following mods on my E46 M3 after many different intake options tried:

Go for the: Turner Motorsport E46 M3 Carbon Fiber Cold Air Intake Kit
              http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-34...ntake-kit.aspx

              and

TMS pulleys (Get the audiophile one as your alternator will not charge properly with the full power pulley kit).
              http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-19...ulley-kit.aspx

These mods are the bomb.. if you then get a tune your car should be pretty quick!.
              Current:
2011 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade "Repsol Edition"..

              Past ///M's:

On a stock car there would be no real noticeable difference... With supporting mods they will help liven the car up. You ever see how companies advertise 25hp increase* on an intake for example...

That little * usually indicates "up to 25hp increase with supporting mods under certain testing conditions etc"
