Fuel economy on the e39 M5

    Dear All,
Can any one shed some light on what should be the fuel consumption on a 2003 E39 M5?

I know it is dependent on a lot of other things, but just an assumption that the car is in stock form and has a mileage of approx 100,000 KM.

and how much difference would it make if the ECU has been upgraded for high performance.

    thanks

Dude! ///M car and fuel economy don't belong in the same sentence. Or the same discussion for that matter. This is blasphemy.

My fulltank with moderate driving gives me 450kms. Don't forget highway mileage is great for BMWs. If you get stuck in traffic then you're doomed.

One question though, when was the last time your MAFs have been cleaned or replaced ?

Ive recently changed my MAFs, fuel filter and fuel pump, so the car in its healthiest consumes between 450 - 500 Kms, be it city or highway driving, its the same..

My average from the car computer is approx 6 (mostly high rev as i enter the highway from one exit and exit on the next -from Tawar to khawaneej) and the E39 M5 fuel tank carries approx 70+ liters when full. so mine give around 400-450KM. ok not bad i think??
