SMG Pump Failure

Ahhh Ahhh

I really don't know where to start ! It seems like we all SMG users have to go through this hassle !

Yesterday I was driving in Jumairah Beach Road in S3 Mode DSC on ... Moderate driving style RPMs were not crossing 4 or 5 as max.

Suddenly the SMG Failure Fault comes up !!! :cry::cry:

Straight away i switched to S1 mode to let the pump work with enough time but the gear started to switch to 0 (N in other cars) every once in a while.

I stopped the car disconnected the battery, waited for 10 minutes then reconnected the battery, BUT same problem occurred :cursing::cursing:

I reached home after I went out of my mind ! and I recorded this for the experts to analyze !

You did change your SMG relay, correct? Well in fairness, I think your pump is round that time where it has to quit, the car has done a lot of miles on one pump with your driving style; gotta give it M-GMBH, they know how to build these!

Hook it up to a GT1 and see what exactly went wrong.

I changed my Relay 2 months back ! I called Shak n he told me that it might be a leak in the SMG lines !!

No i didn't. Shak is passing by my place tomorrow to check the car ! meanwhile i'm gonna keep it parked !

yes thats exactly what i'm hearing, plus !! when the gear engages i can hear the blades contacting each other violently... hope u got me !!! :( :cry:

hmmmmm yea got you...however, what you are hearing is probably the gears meshing during the shift. I remember you have clutch probs recently? Have you replaced the clutch?

Well sounds like the pump might be at fault! Most probably could be the pump at the Gearbox end.... (hmmmm hope not!, hope its just a leak)

Check your SMG oil level too...

Keep your fingers crossed Rifo...hopefully, it will be minor..inshaallah!

Same issue I had when I first bought the car, changed the relay but it wasn't that, pump had to go so got it changed when I installed the kit. Most probably it's the pump brotha, u should have one ordered ASAP cause u wont find it in stock anywhere, will take about 10 days to arrive from Germany, i'm sure the guys can help u with that...Good luck!

Guys, I've checked the oil level and this is what I saw !!!




Can someone predict ? is it bad ? no , yes ? ... help :cry:
