BMW introduces another Special Edition M3 Coupe for China

In 2010, to celebrate the year of the tiger in China, BMW launched the M3 Tiger Edition, a special edition M3 Coupe available in limited quantity. Just a year later, BMW is preparing to introduce another special M3 Coupe for the Chinese market. Dubbed Matte Edition, the new M3 limited edition offers buyers the choice of two unique exterior paints, black matte or gunmetal grey.

The bespoke colors are creating by combining a metallic finish with a silky matte clear coat. The M3 Matte Edition also includes black chrome side air intakes, red brake calipers, lightweight 19″ high-gloss alloy wheels and blacked out exhaust pipes.

Inside, as expected, carbon fiber has been extensively used, starting with the trim and matching special black carbon fiber leather for the seats along with contrasting red seams for the seat edges and door armrests.

The Chinese-market BMW M3 Matted Edition is powered by the same naturally aspirated 4.0-liter V8 engine found across the standard M3 lineup that churns out 420 horsepower and 400Nm of peak torque.

Pricing and availability are yet to be announced.

Interesting... infact they only produce 250units for this special addition.

Inside, the limited M3 Tiger will feature Novilla black leather with contrasting orange stitching and the headrests will be branded with an unique tiger head logo. To differentiate even further from other limited edition M3s, the door sill plates will also illustrate a Tiger Edition Logo in fire orange metallic color.

i want to buy a cat edition M3... but the issue is they only produce it for the people who live in the north pole. it's the only M3 to come with a diesel engine.

BMW M3 Carbon Edition for China

A new special BMW for the Chinese market emerges once again. The BMW M3 Carbon Edition is limited to 111 cars and was built to satisfy the new ever growing premium market in China.

Priced at 1.23 million yuan or $189,000, the BMW M3 Carbon Edition goes on sale this July and as you might have guessed, it’s all about carbon fiber parts and inserts. The roof is made of carbon fiber which saves about 8 lbs, along with new carbon fiber made front and rear bumpers, lip splitters, trunk spoiler, side skirts, hood inlets and interior parts.

The car is dressed up in the Mineral White color along with paint scheme and Carbon Edition logos. Inside, the car features black leather seats with a carbon pattern and white stripes.

Engine is standard M3 with 420 hp and 400 Nm of torque. The M3 Carbon Edition sits on black 19″ Style 220 wheels.

Was just thinking the same thing - it's kind of a cheezy font... what a sell-out by BMW ///M - sport; truly disappointing.

Looks like ///M will become as ubiquitous as S-Line. Back in the day the most exotic car we got in the UK was the E36 Evo...
